Listed in catalogues under Russia however The Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic, also known as Soviet Armenia, was a constituent republic of the Soviet Union located in the South Caucasus region. It existed from 1920, when it was established as part of the Transcaucasian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, until 1991, when it became independent as the Republic of Armenia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. So, it was not part of Russia but rather a republic within the Soviet Union. |
