Malaya 50 cent note dated 01/07/1941 its varieties & identification details

With the ever increasing popularity of these notes it is very confusing to find what is rare and what is relatively common this article hopes to alleviate the confusion. There are four varieties with in this group all varieties occur on the front of the note the back is the same for all types.

Variety No 1

Variety No 2

Variety No 3

Variety No 4

One variety is caused by the change in language in the Jawa script the other 3 are from portrait design changes - fortunately the notes are serial numbered so this can also be used as a guide.

Variety No 1 has a single dot above the second character in the Jawa script. This variety occurs in the serial range A/1 to A/22.

Variety No 1
