This is an overstamped version of P108, which was intended to have a value of 100 drachmas. However Italy declared war on Greece before they were issued and the Bank of Greece realised there was now a shortage of 1000 drachma notes. The 100 drachma notes were therefore overstamped to give them a value of 1000 drachmas.
This note is dated 1939 but was not issued then.
