During the German occupation banknotes were printed by 4 different printers in Athens. As a result there was not absolute uniformity – for example some notes had letters to the left of the numbers, others to the right. The size of the numbers also varied at times. In this particular case batches of 1,000 notes were printed with the same serial number to facilitate speed of printing. This note has letters to the left.
Date printed on this note is 20 October 1944
